We are the Magic Valley provider for Veterans Court.
We provide Peer and Recovery Support.
We look forward to helping our Veterans.
Through the experience of soldiers from actions like Vietnam, which ended in 1975, our senior veterans were experiencing psychological and neurological injuries associated with a conflict that ended over 40 years ago. That has given the Psychology world the opportunity for growth the field of post service mental health counselling to grow and allowed veterans of all age’s new opportunities.
Since 2001, 2.77 million service members have served on 5.4 million deployments across the world with soldiers from the Army accounting for the bulk of them. Deployed personnel were under 30 years old on average, over half were married and about half them have children. These service members have been to the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan, and over half of them have deployed more than once.
Of those returning Veterans, between 25-40% will have suffered the "signature injuries" of the Iraqi War, associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
PTSD can be debilitating, but with early intervention, the effects can be mitigated so service members can return to their homes and communities and lead healthy, productive, and happy lives.
